The social economy and social enterprises will be a significant area of focus in 2017 for the Social Platform – the largest network of European social sector NGOs in Europe. The Social Platform plans to promote the social economy as a means of contributing to social, as well as economic, development. It will build on advances made in this area by the European Commission Group of Experts on Social Entrepreneurship, the European Council conclusions on the social economy and the Bratislava Declaration, as well as the work conducted by the European Economic and Social Committee.
